Our Research and Foundings

This section provides an overview of the laboratory’s research projects, including both ongoing and completed activities. It presents funded projects in detail, outlining their scientific objectives, work packages (WPs), specific tasks, and expected outcomes. Each project description highlights the strategic framework, methodological approach, and collaborative context in which the research is conducted.

Antibody Drug Conjugates

Antibody–Drug Conjugates combine monoclonal antibodies with highly potent cytotoxic molecules for targeted cancer therapy. The research focuses on the sustainable synthesis of ADC payloads and intermediates through efficient and scalable catalytic methods. This approach enables modular access to bioconjugation-ready building blocks while reducing waste and environmental impact, aligning medicinal chemistry with sustainable manufacturing principles.

Sustainable Catalysis

This research is centred on sustainable catalysis and the use of waste and biomass as renewable resources for chemical processes. The activity aims to develop efficient catalytic methodologies in environmentally benign media while transforming industrial and agricultural residues into value-added materials. This approach combines reaction performance with circular chemistry principles, reducing waste, replacing fossil-based inputs and lowering the overall environmental impact.

Supported Research Projects

We also have funded projects, such as PRIN 2022 – AntiReTub, which develops Antibody–Drug Conjugates to eradicate intracellular Mycobacterium tuberculosis and tackle multidrug-resistant TB, and CircularWaste, which transforms urban, agricultural, and industrial wastes into functional materials for sustainable catalytic processes based on circular chemistry principles, integrating efficiency and environmental impact assessments.
