CircularWaste aims to transform industrial and agricultural waste into valuable

chemicals through innovative and sustainable catalytic processes. By combining green chemistry principles, biochar-supported catalysts, and waste-derived additives, the project explores new ways to perform key chemical transformations in water and other eco-friendly media. From the extraction of tannins and long-chain alcohols from leather waste to the development of heterogeneous catalysts and optimized continuous flow processes, every step is designed with circularity and environmental impact in mind. Life Cycle Assessment and green metrics ensure that the methods developed are not only efficient but also truly sustainable. Through collaboration between academic and industrial partners, CircularWaste seeks to bridge fundamental research and practical applications, demonstrating how waste can be converted into resources while advancing a circular economy.
